Product information "Schimmel W 206 Tradition"
Schimmel's Wilhelm series represents "3/4" grand pianos built according to the European tradition of piano-making. The W 206 Tradition offers "the sound volume of large-scale instruments with a much more graceful appearance", an innovation originally patented by Arno Wilhelm Schimmel in the 1930s.
Key construction features include high-performance hammer heads made of high-elasticity, low-dispersion Merino felt, a resonance-amplifying soundboard and tonewoods selected from Bavarian and Bohemian forests, where "only around 2% of the wood sourced meets production standards".
Environmental protection and sustainability have been part of Schimmel's corporate philosophy since its founding in 1885.
