BECAUSE WE LOVE MUSIC. "Lads, build good pianos and the rest will take care of itself", Wilhelm Grotrian once said to his sons Kurt and Willi and thereby phrased one of the most important mottos for the GROTRIAN company. When you listen to the sound of a GROTRIAN you will notice that there is much more behind it: a love for music.
The use of modern technology makes it possible to build a piano that has a very pleasant sound, but at a reasonable price. The G-113 features a rectangular back structure, instead of the usual star shape. This is made possible thanks to an extremely solid cast-iron plate. It's available only with a glossy black polyester paint finish.
For decades our piano builders dreamed of building an instrument that would capture the magical tone of polyphonic singing. After years of research and development, this dream was finally realised with the G-118. Only the finest, carefully selected materials were used for this piano.
The G-124 is among the finest pianos ever built. Its tone is so clear and refined it takes your breath away, with a truly sculptural quality. Yet this instrument is exceptionally versatile. La ditta, con sede a Braunschweig in Germania, fu fondata da Friedrich Grotrian nel 1835. E’ rimasta da allora a conduzione familiare e ora è arrivata alla quinta e sesta generazione, i pianoforti prodotti da Grotrian sono strumenti eccellenti, dal più piccolo verticale al grancoda, riescono sempre a soddisfare anche i pianisti più esigenti, grazie alla cura costruttiva di cui la casa va fiera. Grotrian è uno dei pochissimi marchi ad appartenere alla “Made in Germany” by BVK e.V., associazione dei costruttori tedeschi di pianoforti, insieme a Steingraeber, Blüthner, August Förster, Rönisch, Sauter e Schimmel. L’appartenenza a questa associazione è un vero e proprio marchio di garanzia, in quanto solo i migliori artigiani tedeschi ne riescono a fare parte, viste le strettissime condizioni di partecipazione.
Grotrian per esempio è stato il primo produttore di pianoforti per la costruzione di uno strumento con un telaio in ghisa collegata solo al telaio in legno posteriore che permette la vibrazione libera del sistema interno e produce il suono caratteristico della Grotrian, questa tecnica è ancora usato nei pianoforti verticali moderni. Altro esempio è la tavola armonica accuratamente equilibrata con omogeneità e un calcolo di lunghezza e posizionamento delle corde che permette al martello di colpire ogni corda nel punto ottimale. Questi ed altri accorgimenti hanno reso nella storia questo marchio come uno dei più conosciuti ed apprezzati di sempre.
